Fly Tipping at Moreton Cross

Thursday, September 4, 2014 posted by Steve Williams

I have been contacted by a number of traders at Moreton Cross regarding fly tipping.  A large amount of rubbish has been dumped in the car park behind Heron Foods.

We have suffered much fly tipping in areas such as Carr Lane, Tarran Way, Lingham Lane and by the lighthouse, but now it seems to be spreading into the Town Centre.  I have contacted the council’s Environment & Waste Department who will investigate the mess.  If you can help identity anyone who may be fly tipping please let me know as this is becoming a very expensive exercise for the Council who could use our money for much better purposes.

Woodpecker Close

Tuesday, September 2, 2014 posted by Steve Williams

Last Thursday saw Cllr Bruce Berry and I attending a residents meeting for the occupiers of houses around the Woodpecker Close area.  The meeting was arranged by Magenta Living, the landlord for these attendees.  It was a great insight into the variety of issues and problems facing the residents.  Between Magenta Living and ourselves many of these problems can be addressed and hopefully sorted out.

The meeting was expertly run by Jenny Harvey and Ann Mulholland the area co-ordinators from Magenta Living.  We look forward to the next meeting and maybe in other areas so that we can continue to be pro-active in the ward to attempt to alleviate residents’ problems.

If you feel this is something your area may benefit from, please contact me or Cllrs. Bruce Berry or Chris Blakeley and we will try and arrange it.
