Today I had an enlightening experience when I was invited to Claire House Children’s Hospice at Clatterbridge.  I was shown around by the Area Fundraiser, Lynn Taylor, and her colleague Abby Smith.  What a fantastic place.  It is very sad that we need a resource like this but it’s a fact that we do.

To see first hand how much the staff do to ensure the best for the children and young people is remarkable. They are truly dedicated.  It is such a shame that the centre needs so much donated money to operate.

There has been a lot of work done improving the facilities and I was told of future plans which are continuing to make the hospice better.  All the work going on appears to be very thoughtfully planned with the children’s need foremost.  I admire the innovative ideas from the staff. There were things that I would never have thought of.

Thanks to Lynn and Abby for the time they took to explain and show me everything.  I would urge anyone who feels they could support the charity in any way to do so. They emphasise they would be really grateful for help or donations no matter how small or large.
