This afternoon Cllr Chris Blakeley and I went to the new Skipton Building Society in Moreton for the draw that they have been running in support of the Ariella Byrne Appeal.  Over £120 was raised for Ariella whose appeal has now passed the £6000 mark.  Still a long way off the £60,000 needed but it is now over 10%.  A big thanks go to the staff at the Skipton, Claire, Paul, Denise and Barbara for organising the draw.  Claire is planning a further fundraising for Ariella, possibly a bag packing event at a supermarket, which Chris and I will gladly assist with.

The draw itself took place with Chris picking the first ticket, a Skipton customer named Tony.  I picked the 2nd winner, and true to form, picked one of my own tickets and walked away with a Vodka miniature, glass and chocolates!  Chris then picked the 3rd prize ticket, which had been bought by the leader of Wirral Council, Cllr Jeff Green!   The 4th prize was another Skipton customer, Alan.
