Yesterday I called at the newly opened Skipton Building Society at 248 Hoylake Road, Moreton.  It is great to report a new company opening in the Town when so many have closed recently.  The Skipton opened when the Halifax decided to close our local branch.  Other good news on this is that the Manager Claire, and Barbara and Denise who ran the Halifax, have been taken on by the Skipton.

Yesterday I met with the new Customer Advisor, Paul While, who opened a new account for me, whilst I had Tea and mince pies.  I think that’s a seasonal thing and wont get this every time I call!

Even better news is that the Skipton have kindly organised a charity raffle in aid of Ariella Byrne, the little girl that helped us at the Moreton Christmas Lights switch on.  Ariella has Spastic Diplegia Cerebral Palsy and can only get around with the use of a wheelchair or by leaning on a standing frame as her legs can’t hold her weight.  Ariella who is 7, would love to dance but she desperately needs a £60,000 operation to be able to walk.

Raffle Tickets are on sale now, and only cost a £1 each.  The draw will take place at the Skipton on the 23rd December at 5.00p.m. Mince pies and Sherry will be served during that afternoon.
