I have just returned from the Town Hall and we now have a Conservative led council for the first time in 24 years.  Following a coalition agreement between the 27 Conservative Councillors and 15 Liberal Democrats, Councillor Jeff Green is now the Leader of the council.

Our priority will be working with the Coalition Government to freeze Council Tax for Wirral residents.

Our immediate proposals are a 5% pay cut for Cabinet Members. We will publish details of all Council spending of £500 or more.   We shall appoint an all-Party Commission to look at ways of including more people in the decision making.  We have pledged to involve more local people in the decisions affecting their communities.

All in all we aim to run a better council for all residents.
