The sun came out today as Cllrs. Chris Blakeley, Bruce Berry and I visited Summer Fairs. The first was at Foxfield Special School in Douglas Drive.

Lots of nice stalls and the first hot dog of the day. Bruce had extra fun with his grandson…….

Then on to Christchurch Primary in Upton Road. Second hot dog of the day, followed later by big cream cake and coffee. We all tried ‘Guess the weight of the cake’ so if that is won, more cake to eat!

All in all a great day with good attendances due to the glorious weather and hopefully lots of money raised for both schools. Thanks to Merseyside Police and the Merseyside Fire Service for supplying staff and vehicles for the children, and some adults, to climb on.  (that’s the vehicles, not the staff!).  It was also nice to meet many residents and discuss local issues, good and bad, with them.
