Last night was the first full council meeting of the municipal year.  It was chaired by our new mayor Cllr. Gerry Ellis.  The main change was that the council has now gone back to Labour control, due to the local election results.  Cllr. Phil Davies is now the leader of Wirral Council.  We accepted this proposal, but our leader Cllr. Jeff Green warned that we will remain very active in opposition and hold the new administration to account.

With regard to council committees I will continue to serve on the ‘Sustainable Communities’ and the ‘Council Excellence’ overview and scrutiny committees.  I have also been appointed to the committee of the ‘Merseyside Waste Disposal Authority’, and to the ‘Merseyside Strategic Transport Committee’.  I will remain a Management Board Member of  ‘Arch Initiatives’, and a Governor at Foxfield school.

My fellow ward councillors Cllr. Chris Blakeley and Cllr. Simon Mountney and I will continue to work hard for better things for Moreton West and Saughall Massie and deal with any local issues that are highlighted by residents.
