Brickworks Site behind Carr Lane

Wednesday, April 22, 2015 posted by Steve Williams

I have just heard that a planning application has been submitted on behalf of Brock Plc to delay the scheme to restore the site of the North Wirral Brickworks behind Carr Lane.

I have now requested that this application be heard in public.  I have also learned that Wirral Council has been in secret discussions with the applicant regarding future use of the site.

This site has been troublesome for many years, causing annoyance to neighbours with dust, noise and disturbance.  I believe details of the discussions between Brock and the Council’s planning department must also be made public so that we know what Brock have in mind for this site.

The site is in the Green Belt and, as we know, there are already a series of threats to green spaces around Moreton – such as Fernbank Farm for housing and the land at Saughall Massie, offered by the labour led Council, which is under threat of being developed by the Fire Authority.

As soon as I hear further on this issue, I will report further.  In the meantime, I would welcome any views, comments or information you may have which could assist us to protect this site once and for all.
