Whilst I’m disappointed that we still have 9 empty shops in Moreton it’s good that 2 new Businesses have opened last week. Wirral Discount Appliances have opened at 279 Hoylake Road, whilst Lighthouse Antiques have opened at 273, the old Mobile Phone shop.  When I called in Lighthouse Antiques it took me back to my childhood with Hornby train sets and Triang cars on sale!

I will continue to liaise with the Head of Regeneration at the Town Hall to try and encourage more Businesses to Moreton and keep it vibrant.

Wallasey Parliamentary Candidate Selected

Chris Clarkson 2-2000

Last night saw the selection of the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Wallasey & Moreton.  Chris Clarkson was chosen by the members of the Association.  Chris, currently a Conservative Councillor in Worsley Ward of Salford City Council,  was grilled by us and gave excellent answers to each question thrown at him.  He is very enthusiastic about the Conservative value of making the area a better place for all residents.  He has stepped up at a great time for Conservatives nationally when jobs are up,  unemployment down, wages up and inflation down.  The long term economy plan is also thriving.

Chris is keen to work with me and the other local Councillors as he seen some of the outrageous decisions that the Labour controlled Wirral Council has made, such as the travesty of justice regarding The Lyndale School,  the planned massive salary rise for the new Chief Executive and of course the flippant way they have offered greenbelt land in Saughall Massie to the Fire Authority for a possible new Fire Station.

I look forward to working with Chris, and know that like me, he is keen to hear views of any matter you think we may be able to assist with.
